One of the best chowders I have ever made.

Ingredients

  • 1/4 pound diced bacon, fried and drained
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 2 carrots, thinly sliced
  • 3 stalks celery with leaves, thinly sliced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley
  • 1, 15-ounce can chopped up tomatoes, with juice
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1 teaspoon thyme
  • 4 red potatoes, diced
  • 2 cans clams with juice

Directions

  1. Place all ingredients in the crock pot.
  2. Mix until blended well.
  3. Cover and cook on high for 1 hour, then turn to low for 8 hours.
