Luscious Lemon Loaf

Luscious Lemon Loaf has a sweet citrusy glaze.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 1/2 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • grated rind and juice of 1 lemon

Directions

  1. Cream butter and 1 cup sugar together in bowl. Add eggs, beating well. Sift dry ingredients together. Add to creamed mixture alternately with milk, beating well after each addtion. Stir in rind.
  2. Pour into 5 by 9 inch loaf pan. Bake at 350 degrees F for 45 minutes. Mix lemon juice with remaining 1/2 cup sugar. Spoon over hot bread. Cool in pan.
