This cocktail is made with Italian Cynar; bitter-tasting Italian liquor made from 13 different kinds of herbs and plants.


  • Ice
  • 2 ounces rye
  • 3/4 ounce sweet vermouth
  • 1/2 ounce cynar
  • 1 maraschino cherry


  1. Pre-chill a cocktail glass in the freezer for five minutes.
  2. Fill a cocktail shaker two-thirds full with ice and then pour in the rye, vermouth and cynar.
  3. Stir the mixture for 35 seconds and then strain into the prepared glass.
  4. Garnish the cocktail with the cherry and serve.
