This citrusy syrup is especially tasty drizzled over yogurt, cake and panna cotta dessert. Substitute the lime with lemon if desired for lemon syrup.


  • 3 tablespoons lime juice
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup water


  1. Place the lime juice, sugar and the water into a saucepan over medium-high heat and bring to a rolling boil.
  2. Stir the mixture continuously until the sugar has completely dissolved, then reduce the heat to medium-low and simmer the mixture for 8 minutes.
  3. Remove syrup from heat and allow to cool before serving.
