This simple lemon dressing adds an enjoyable fresh and citrusy bite to carrot, cabbage and turnip salads, as well as steamed mixed vegetables.


  • juice of 1 large lemon
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • pinch of salt
  • pinch of freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 medium garlic clove, minced
  • 1/3 cup olive oil


  1. Whisk together the lemon juice, lemon zest, sugar, salt, pepper, garlic and olive oil in a bowl until completely blended. Serve immediately.
