This sweet and zingy lemon bread is great for sharing with friends and family!
Ingredients
- 1-1/2 sticks butter
- 2-2/3 cups sugar
- 4 eggs
- 3 cups flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 cup milk
- 1 cup nuts, finely chopped
- 4 teaspoons lemon rind
- 1/2 cup lemon juice
Directions
- Mix together butter, 2 cups sugar and eggs.
- Add flour, baking powder and milk to mixture.
- Mix in nuts and lemon rind.
- Bake at 350 degrees for 50-55 minutes.
- In a saucepan, mix lemon juice and remaining sugar. Heat until sugar melts.
- Poke holes in bread and pour heated juice mixture over entire loaf while bread is still warm.
