This sweet and zingy lemon bread is great for sharing with friends and family!

Ingredients

  • 1-1/2 sticks butter
  • 2-2/3 cups sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 3 cups flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 cup nuts, finely chopped
  • 4 teaspoons lemon rind
  • 1/2 cup lemon juice

Directions

  1. Mix together butter, 2 cups sugar and eggs.
  2. Add flour, baking powder and milk to mixture.
  3. Mix in nuts and lemon rind.
  4. Bake at 350 degrees for 50-55 minutes.
  5. In a saucepan, mix lemon juice and remaining sugar. Heat until sugar melts.
  6. Poke holes in bread and pour heated juice mixture over entire loaf while bread is still warm.
