This pre-Prohibition cocktail is a gin-based classic that blends apricot brandy, French vermouth, grenadine and a dash of fresh lemon juice together for a clear winner.
- 1-1/2 ounces gin
- 3/4 ounce apricot brandy
- 3/4 ounce French (dry) vermouth
- 2 dashes grenadine
- dash lemon juice
- Put a cocktail glass in the freezer for 5 minutes to chill.
- Place the gin, apricot brandy, vermouth, grenadine and lemon juice into a cocktail shaker filled with ice.
- Vigorously shake the mixture to combine for 35 seconds, and then strain into the chilled glass; serve immediately.
