Simple syrup infused with lavender makes a lovely sweetener for teas, cocktails and cool summer beverages.
Ingredients
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup water
- 1/4 cup dried lavender
Directions
- Place the sugar, water and dried lavender in a saucepan and bring to a boil. Stir the mixture continuously until the sugar has completely dissolved, and then simmer over medium-low heat for 5 minutes.
- Remove the pan from the heat and set aside for 10 minutes to steep. Strain the liquid through a fine mesh sieve and store in an airtight bottle for up to 2 weeks.
