The Knickerbocker Martini sets itself apart from its classic cousin by blending equal parts of dry and sweet vermouth and adding a dash of bitters.

Place a martini glass into the freezer for 5 minutes to chill.
Put the gin, dry vermouth, sweet vermouth and bitters into a cocktail shaker half-filled with ice and stir or shake the mixture for 30 seconds until chilled.
Strain the mixture into the prepared glass and serve immediately.
