This dry and elegant cocktail uses Kirsch, a clear, colorless fruit brandy traditionally made from morello cherries, to add a touch of cherry flavor to this appealing drink.

Ingredients

2 ounces rye whiskey
1 ounce sweet vermouth
1-1/2 bar-spoons kirsch
3/4 bar-spoons absinthe
Lemon zest twist to garnish

Directions

Pour all of the ingredients, except for the garnish, into a cocktail shaker filled with ice.
Slowly stir the mixture for 35 seconds and then strain into a cocktail glass.
Garnish the cocktail with the lemon zest twist and then serve immediately.
