Warm and sweet Ice Box Rolls are a special breakfast treat.

Ingredients

  • 1 cake yeast
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 2 2/3 cups flour
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 1 cup lukewarm milk
  • 4 tablespoon butter, melted
  • pinch salt

Directions

  1. Sprinkle 1 tablespoon sugar over yeast in bowl. After 5 minutes add rest of sugar, salt, eggs, milk, butter and 2 cups of flour. Beat thoroughly.
  2. Stir in rest of flour, cover and let rise until double in bulk. Store dough in refrigerator overnight.
  3. Break off bits of dough, shape as desired and place on a greased baking sheet. Cover with a cloth and let rise until double in bulk. Usually takes 3 hours. Bake 12 minutes at 350 degrees F.
