Warm and sweet Ice Box Rolls are a special breakfast treat.
Ingredients
- 1 cake yeast
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 2 2/3 cups flour
- 1/3 cup sugar
- 1 cup lukewarm milk
- 4 tablespoon butter, melted
- pinch salt
Directions
- Sprinkle 1 tablespoon sugar over yeast in bowl. After 5 minutes add rest of sugar, salt, eggs, milk, butter and 2 cups of flour. Beat thoroughly.
- Stir in rest of flour, cover and let rise until double in bulk. Store dough in refrigerator overnight.
- Break off bits of dough, shape as desired and place on a greased baking sheet. Cover with a cloth and let rise until double in bulk. Usually takes 3 hours. Bake 12 minutes at 350 degrees F.
