Have jam and butter ready to spread on Hot Rolls!
Ingredients
- 1 cup shortening
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 2 packages yeast
- 2 eggs, well beaten
- 6 cups flour
- 2 teaspoons salt
Directions
- Cream first 2 ingredients together in a bowl. Add 1 cup boiling water and cool.
- Dissolve yeast in 1 cup warm water. Add to sugar mixture. Add eggs, mixing well. Sift 3 cups flour and salt together. Stir into egg mixture, blending well.
- Chill covered with a wet cloth until ready to use. Add remaining flour and shape as desired. Place on buttered baking sheet. Let rise for 2 hours. Bake at 350 degrees F for 20 minutes.
