Hong Kong Salad is flavored with bacon, mandarin oranges and a sweet-sour dressing.
Ingredients
- 2 heads lettuce, shredded
- 2 cans mandarin oranges, drained
- 1/2 pound bacon, cooked crisp
- 1 package almonds, slivered
- 1/2 red onion, sliced
- Dressing: 1/3 cup sugar
- 2 1/2 tablespoons vinegar
- 2 1/2 tablespoons honey
- 1/8 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon grated onion
- 1/2 teaspoon dry mustard
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon celery seed
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
Directions
- Combine all ingredients, except oil. Heat until sugar is dissolved. Stir; add oil.
- Prepare salad bowl; toss dressing with lettuce, oranges, bacon, almonds and onions.
