Making chocolate milk shouldn’t involve squeezing a thick syrup into a glass with milk. Try this homemade version instead and relish its authentic flavor.


  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 2 ounces white chocolate, finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon sucanat


  1. Place 3/4 cup of milk into a saucepan over low heat. Once it comes to a gentle simmer, add the white chocolate and sucanat and whisk vigorously until all of the chocolate has melted and the sugar has completely dissolved.
  2. Add the remaining milk to the pan and whisk well to blend. Place the chocolate milk in the refrigerator and chill well prior to serving.
