Homemade French Fried Potatoes?  Yum!  Pass the ketchup.


  • 2 pounds baking potatoes
  • vegetable oil for frying


  1. Fill large skillet or deep fat fryer one third full with vegetable oil. Slowly heat oil to 375 degrees F.
  2. Meanwhile peel potatoes and cut lengthwise into quarters. Fry potatoes, a single layer at a time, in hot oil about 10 minutes, or until golden brown and tender. Drain on paper towels.
