Herbed Toast is a wonderful way to use day old bread slices.
- 8 slices white bread
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1/2 teaspoon savory
- 1/2 teaspoon fennel seeds, crushed
- Cut off crusts. Arrange slices on cookie sheet.
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. In small saucepan over medium heat, heat butter, savory and fennel seeds until butter melts. Brush bread slices with butter mixture; bake 15 minutes or golden on both side, turning bread slices once.
