Fernet Branca, also known as the "liqueur of Hades," is an intense Italian liqueur made from over 40 different kinds of herbs and spices. The spirit is frequently consumed as a ‘digestif,’ but is slowly gaining popularity as a drink to enjoy alone or mixed in a cocktail.
- 1-1/2 ounces gin
- 1-1/2 ounces sweet vermouth
- 2 dashes Fernet Branca
- twist of orange peel to garnish
- Pour the gin, vermouth and Fernet Branca into a cocktail shaker filled with ice, and stir for 30 seconds to combine.
- Strain the mixture into a cocktail glass, garnish with the orange peel twist and serve immediately.
