Adding a blend of strawberry preserves with a splash of Pinot Noir to a classic ham and cheese sandwich makes a common lunch posh and unique.

Ingredients

  • Twenty 1/4-inch-thick slices of brioche
  • 1/2 cup strawberry preserves
  • 2 tablespoons of Pinot Noir
  • 10 thin slices of baked ham
  • 10 thin slices of Gruyère cheese
  • Softened unsalted butter

Directions

  1. Place the strawberry preserves with the Pinot Noir into a small bowl and mix until thoroughly combined.

  3. In the meantime, lightly butter one side of each brioche slice and then spread the non-buttered sides of 10 of the slices with the strawberry mixture. Top with a slice of ham and cheese and then close the sandwiches with the reaming slices, butter side facing out.
  4. Place the sandwiches on the hot griddle and cook for 2 minutes on each side. Serve immediately.
