Gouda cheese is a semi-firm Dutch cheese that has a mild, nutty and creamy taste with a bit of a piquant aroma. Serve it stuffed in buttery pecans for a delicious and sophisticated appetizer.


  • 1 cup finely shredded Gouda cheese (4 ounces), room temperature
  • 3 tablespoons dairy sour cream
  • 40 large pecan halves


  1. Place the Gouda cheese and the sour cream in a medium-sized mixing bowl and beat with an electric mixer until thoroughly blended.
  2. Carefully pipe or spoon the cheese mixture into the flat side of a pecan, and then top with another pecan half to close.
