Pairing fresh ginger and lemon with green tea creates an invigorating and aromatic beverage. Feel free to use decaffeinated green tea instead.
Ingredients
- 6 cups water
- 4 teaspoons sugar
- 1 1-inch piece fresh ginger, thinly sliced
- 8 lemon peel strips
- 6 green tea bags (decaffeinated, if desired)
- Lemon slices to garnish
Directions
- Place the water, sugar, ginger, and lemon peel strips into a saucepan and place over high heat to boil. Once boiling, reduce the heat to medium-low and simmer the mixture for 12 minutes.
- Remove the ginger and the lemon peel from the pan, discard and then add the tea bags and cover the pan. Steep the tea for 5 minutes and then serve garnished with lemon slices.
