Pairing fresh ginger and lemon with green tea creates an invigorating and aromatic beverage. Feel free to use decaffeinated green tea instead.

  • 6 cups water
  • 4 teaspoons sugar
  • 1 1-inch piece fresh ginger, thinly sliced
  • 8 lemon peel strips
  • 6 green tea bags (decaffeinated, if desired)
  • Lemon slices to garnish

  1. Place the water, sugar, ginger, and lemon peel strips into a saucepan and place over high heat to boil. Once boiling, reduce the heat to medium-low and simmer the mixture for 12 minutes.
  2. Remove the ginger and the lemon peel from the pan, discard and then add the tea bags and cover the pan. Steep the tea for 5 minutes and then serve garnished with lemon slices.
