Ginger bread in German style with orange flavor.
Ingredients
- 1 cup butter, softened
- 2 cup brown sugar
- 3 eggs
- 2/3 cup honey
- 1/4 cup orange liquor
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1/2 cup orange juice
- 1 2/3 cup all purpose flour
- 1 cup whole wheat flour
- 4 tsp baking powder
- 2 tsp ground ginger
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
- 1/4 tsp ground cloves
- 1 cup raisins
- 1 cup blanched slivered almonds
Directions
- Take a large bowl.
- Mix butter and brown sugar in it.
- Beat in eggs, honey, orange liquour, sour cream and orange juice.
- Beat in flour mixture.
- Add raisins and almonds.
- Turn the batter into a greased and floured tube pan.
- Bake cake at 350 degrees F until well done.
- Serve hot or cold.
