Say, "Guten Morgen" with a nice slice of German Coffee Cake.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup margarine
  • 1 1/4 cups sugar
  • 2 eggs, well beaten
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 2 1/4 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • Topping: 1 cup pecans, chopped
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon

Directions

  1. Cream butter and margarine and sugar. Beat until fluffy. Add beaten eggs, sour cream and vanilla. Mix. Add sifted flour, baking powder and soda; beat well.
  2. Put 1/2 batter in a greased bundt pan. Sprinkle with 1/2 of the topping. Pour in rest of batter and sprinkle with remaining topping.
  3. Bake at 350 degrees F for 45-50 minutes. Turn out onto a plate a few minutes after removing from over.
