Say, "Guten Morgen" with a nice slice of German Coffee Cake.
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1/2 cup margarine
- 1 1/4 cups sugar
- 2 eggs, well beaten
- 1 cup sour cream
- 2 teaspoons vanilla
- 2 1/4 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- Topping: 1 cup pecans, chopped
- 1/3 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
Directions
- Cream butter and margarine and sugar. Beat until fluffy. Add beaten eggs, sour cream and vanilla. Mix. Add sifted flour, baking powder and soda; beat well.
- Put 1/2 batter in a greased bundt pan. Sprinkle with 1/2 of the topping. Pour in rest of batter and sprinkle with remaining topping.
- Bake at 350 degrees F for 45-50 minutes. Turn out onto a plate a few minutes after removing from over.
