Southern style fried okra.

Ingredients

  • 8 pods of okra
  • 1 cup yellow cornmeal
  • 1 tablespoon flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper

Directions

  1. Slice the okra 1/4 inch thick and sprinkle with cold water.
  2. Combine all the dry ingredients, and dip each okra piece until well coated.
  3. Deep fry until golden brown.
