Old fashioned hot water cornbread.
- 2 cups cornmeal
- 3/4 teaspoon salt
- 4 cups water
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- Boil the water in a saucepan.
- Mix together all the dry ingredients, stir in 1/2 of the water and mix. Add more water as desired to reach a good thickness.
- Spoon into 1/2 x 3 inch pones and deep fry in hot oil until brown.
