Old fashioned hot water cornbread.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups cornmeal
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 4 cups water
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder

Directions

  1. Boil the water in a saucepan.
  2. Mix together all the dry ingredients, stir in 1/2 of the water and mix. Add more water as desired to reach a good thickness.
  3. Spoon into 1/2 x 3 inch pones and deep fry in hot oil until brown.
