Easy to make, Fried Green Tomatoes are a summer classic.
Ingredients
- 6 large firm green tomatoes, cut into 1/4 inch slices
- 1 cup cornmeal
- salt and pepper to taste
- vegetable oil for frying
Directions
- Mix cornmeal with salt and pepper to taste. Dredge tomatoes in cornmeal. Heat oil in large skillet. Fry coated tomatoes over medium high heat until browned. Turn once. Drain on layers of paper towels.
