Ingredients
- 2 cups sifted flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon shortening
- 3/4 cup water
- Oil for deep frying
Directions
- Combine all the dry ingredients.
- Mix in the shortening and water, mix well.
- Shape into six equal balls. Take a ball and roll out to 1/8 inch thickness. Cut into wedges. Repeat with the other 5.
- Fry in the hot oil at 375 degrees Fahrenheit, until they are puffy and brown.
