Add a stalk of celery to this drink for garnish.
Ingredients
- 2 ripe tomatoes
- 2 onions, quartered
- 1 cup water
- 1 bay leaf
- 7 whole cloves
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper
- 2 tablespoons vinegar
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
Directions
- Cut tomatoes into quarters.
- Combine tomatoes, onion, water, bay leaf, cloves and red pepper in a saucepan.
- Cook uncovered over low heat for 45 mintues.
- Remove from heat and press tomato mixture through a fine sieve.
- Discard pulp.
- Add vinegar and lemon juice.
- Chill for serveral hours.
- Stir and serve.
