This luscious fresh blueberry sauce is just amazing drizzled warm over a bowl of real vanilla bean ice cream. Use fresh blueberries if in season, otherwise frozen work just as well.
- 1 pound blueberries
- 1/3 cup sugar
- 1-1/2 teaspoons fresh lemon juice
- pinch of salt
- Place the blueberries and the sugar into a saucepan over medium heat, and cook for 6 minutes. Take the pan off the heat and transfer 1/2 cup of the cooked blueberries to a blender; process well until smooth.
- Pour the pureed blueberries back into the saucepan and then stir in the lemon juice and then salt. Mix well to blend and then serve immediately.
