Tart apples and pecans make Fresh Apple Cake a perfect dessert for a cool fall day. Add a dollop of freshly whipped cream to make it fancy.
Ingredients
- 2 cups Granny Smith apples, chopped
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 egg
- 1/2 cup pecans, chopped
- 1 cup flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
Directions
- Place apples and sugar in a large bowl. Let sit for 15 minutes.
- Add the egg and pecans. Mix.
- Sift flour, salt, cinnamon, and baking soda. Stir into apple mixture. Blend well.
- Pour batter into a greased 8 inch square baking pan. Bake at 350 degrees F for 35-40 minutes.
