This rich hot chocolate is full of spicy flavor. The prefect thing to warm a crowd after skating, sledding or skiing. You might even want to put some in a Thermos to take along.
Ingredients
- 4 oz. unsweetened chocolate
- 4 C milk
- 3/4 C half and half
- 1/2 C sugar
- 1/2 tsp. ground nutmeg
- 1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp. ground allspice
- 1 tsp. vanilla extract
- 1/2 tsp. almond extract
- 1/2 cup heavy cream, whipped for garnish
Directions
- Melt chocolate in 1 cup of milk, over low heat, stirring constantly
- Gradually add remaining milk and half and half, followed by remaining ingredients, except extracts. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until completely heated.
- Serve topped with whipped cream and sprinkled with additional nutmeg.
