Sweet French Poufs are baked in muffin pans and sprinkled with cinnamon sugar.

Ingredients

  • 1/3 cup shortening
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 1/2 cups flour, sifted
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon

Directions

  1. Combine shortening, 1/2 cup sugar and egg in bowl, mixing well. Sift next 4 ingredients together. Add to creamed mixture alternately with milk, beating well after each addition.
  2. Fill greased muffin cups 2/3 full. Bake at 350 degrees F for 20 to 25 minutes.
  3. Dip immediately in melted butter and then in mixture of 1/2 cup sugar and cinnamon.
