French Meatballs are served in a burgundy flavored gravy.
Ingredients
- 2 eggs
- 1 teaspoon garlic salt
- 1 cup Burgundy wine
- 1 1/2 pounds ground beef
- 1/2 cup fine dry bread crumbs
- 2 tablespoons shortening
- 1 envelope onion gravy mix
- 1/2 cup water
- 1 teaspoon herb seasoning
Directions
- Combine eggs, garlic salt and 1/2 cup Burgundy. Add beef and bread crumbs; mix lightly. Shape into small balls using a rounded teaspoon for each. Brown in hot shortening in a large skillet. Pour off excess fat.
- Combine contents of gravy mix, water, 1/2 cup Burgundy and herb seasoning. Pour over meat balls. Simmer uncover for 20 minutes.
