Flounder Chowder is a creamy, rich soup filled with potatoes, onions and celery. 

Ingredients

  • 2, 16 ounce packages frozen flounder fillets, thawed
  • 4 large potatoes,sliced
  • 3 medium onions, sliced
  • 1 cup celery, chopped
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 4 whole cloves
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1/4 teaspoon dill seed
  • 1/4 teaspoon white pepper
  • 2 cups light cream
  • 1/2 cup white wine
  • 1/4 cup butter

Directions

  1. In a covered large saucepan over medium heat, simmer potatoes, onions, celery, garlic, cloves, salt, bay leaf, dill seed, pepper and 1 cup water about 25 minutes, until tender.
  2. Cut fish into large chunks. Add fish, 1 cup water and remaining ingredients to vegetables. Cook about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until bubbly hot.
