Easy Shepherd's Pie uses a jar of brown gravy.
Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1/2 cup celery, sliced
- 1/3 cup onion
- 1 tablespoon shortening
- salt and pepper to taste
- 1 jar brown gravy
- 1 cup cooked carrots, sliced
- 1/4 teaspoon thyme leaves
- 2 1/2 cups mashed potatoes
- 1/4 cup American cheese, grated
Directions
- Brown beef, celery and onion in shortening; drain excess fat. Season with salt and pepper. Stir in gravy, cooked carrots and thyme leaves. Pour into an 8 inch square baking dish. Spoon mashed potatoes around edge of dish; sprinkle with cheese. Bake at 375 degrees F for 30 to 35 minutes.
