This beef stew not only tastes great, but it is easy to make as well.

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds cubed beef stew meat
  • 1 clove fresh garlic, minced
  • 3 stalks celery, sliced
  • 5 carrots, sliced
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 3 cups water
  • 1 cup Guinness beer

Directions

  1. Coat beef cubes evenly in flour.
  2. Melt butter in a frying pan and brown coated beef cubes.
  3. Put beef in slow cooker, add all dry ingredients and stir. Then stir in lemon juice, beer, and water.
  4. Cover stew and cook on low for 10 to 12 hours, or on high for 5 to 6 hours. Serve this stew hot!
