It is suggested that ‘Sangaree’ is actually a colonial adaptation of Spanish ‘Sangria.’ Enjoy this dry vermouth version sweetened with maple syrup and spiced with Allspice Dram.

  • 3 ounces dry vermouth
  • 1/2-ounce maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon Allspice Dram
  • 1 large strip orange peel and 1 to garnish

  1. Place all of the ingredients, except for the garnish, into a cocktail shaker and then fill with ice.
  2. Shake the mixture for 30 seconds and then strain into a cocktail glass.
  3. Garnish the drink with the orange peel and then serve immediately.
