Crock Pot Raisin Bread Pudding

I love the sauce mixture in this recipe.

Ingredients

  • SAUCE:
  • 2 tbsp. butter
  • 2 tbsp. flour
  • 1 cup water
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
  • BREAD PUDDING
  • 10 slices raisin bread, cubed
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/3 cup. butter, melted
  • 1 tsp. ground cinnamon

Directions

  1. Spray a crock pot with non stick spray.
  2. Place the bread cubes in the crock pot.
  3. Blend the eggs and milk together in a bowl.
  4. Add the sugar, butter, raisins and cinnamon.
  5. Pour the mixture over the bread and stir.
  6. Cover and cook on high for 1 hour reduce to low and cook for an additonal 3 to 4 hours.
  7. Before you are ready to serve make your sauce.
  8. In a pan melt the butter.
  9. Stir in the flour until smooth.
  10. Slowly add water, sugar and vanilla.
  11. Bring to a boil.
  12. Reduce heat and simmer until the sauce thickens.
  13. Spoon bread pudding into bowls and pour the sauce over the top.
  14. Serve.
