For a vegetarian dish just leave out the bacon.
Ingredients
- 2 cups pinto beans
- 2 slices bacon
- 1/4 cup catsup
- 1 large onion, diced
- 1 1/2 tbsp. chili powder
- 1/2 tsp. garlic salt
- 1 tsp. mustard
- 1/3 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 tsp. garlic pepper
- 8 cups water
Directions
- Place beans in a pan of water overnight.
- Drain water and place beans in a crock pot.
- Add water to beans.
- Cut the bacon into 1/2 inch pieces.
- Mix all other ingredients in a bowl.
- Pour into the crock pot.
- Stir well.
- Cook on low for 10 to 12 hours.
- Add additional water if needed.
