Creamy Coconut Bubble Tea

Bubble tea originated in Taiwan but has become more mainstream in recent years. This creamy coconut bubble tea recipe pleases adults and children alike.


  • 1/2 cup tapioca pearls
  • 1/2 cup low-fat milk
  • 1/2 cup coconut milk
  • 1 cup crushed ice
  • 1 cup black tea
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp honey


  1. Boil the tapioca pearls in for about 30 minutes until they become soft and clear. Turn the heat off and allow the pearls to sit in the hot water for another half hour or so. Drain and rinse under lukewarm water.
  2. Place pearls in a medium bowl and mix in the brown sugar and honey.
  3. In a metal shaker, combine the crushed ice, black tea, low-fat milk, and coconut milk. Shake vigorously until a frost forms on the outside of the shaker.
  4. Pour liquid into a large glass over the tapioca pearls. Serve the coconut bubble tea chilled.
