Homemade cream of tomato soup recipe.

Ingredients

  • 3 cups tomatoes
  • 1/2 cup celery, chopped
  • 1/4 cup onion, chopped
  • 1 1/2 cups water
  • 3 teaspoons sugar
  • 5 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 4 tablespoons flour
  • 4 cups milk
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon paprika

Directions

  1. Combine the tomatoes, celery, onion, sugar and water in a saucepan. Simmer for 15 minutes.
  2. In a separate pan melt the butter and combine with the flour. Stir in the milk.
  3. Strain the vegetables and add to the milk mixture. Season with the salt and paprika. Serve while hot.
