Homemade cream of tomato soup recipe.
Ingredients
- 3 cups tomatoes
- 1/2 cup celery, chopped
- 1/4 cup onion, chopped
- 1 1/2 cups water
- 3 teaspoons sugar
- 5 tablespoons butter, melted
- 4 tablespoons flour
- 4 cups milk
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon paprika
Directions
- Combine the tomatoes, celery, onion, sugar and water in a saucepan. Simmer for 15 minutes.
- In a separate pan melt the butter and combine with the flour. Stir in the milk.
- Strain the vegetables and add to the milk mixture. Season with the salt and paprika. Serve while hot.
