CrockPots are being dusted off more and more and being put to use like it’s 1975. This timeless recipe is a staple for any dinner.

  • 8 small, thick pork chops
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/8 teaspoon sage
  • 1 (12-ounce) can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 tablespoon dried onion flakes

  1. Start by trimming the excess fat from the chops and use it to grease a large skillet (everything serves a purpose in this recipe).
  2. Over high heat, brown each chop lightly on both sides.
  3. Season with salt and pepper and sage and place all chops in the slow cooker.
  4. Set slow cooker to high.
  5. Pour in the soup and onion flakes into the skillet while still cooking.
  6. Scrape the pan juices and turn them into the slow cooker.
  7. Cover and cook on low for eight to ten hours.

Throw the cream of mush away use the following if you have a SODIUM problem or want your Mushrooms to still look light and bright and add to the Pork . Use light sour cream and low sodium chicken broth and maybe (for the brave ) add 2 oz of dry white wine ,1 or more Teaspoons of Granulated Garlic powder ; then hotrod it with same amts ( or less)of Basil/Oregano/smoked paprica or reg then 1/2 tsp tarragon.and 1 TBSP hot sauce. Slice 1/2-1 lb mushrooms and add all but mushrooms till they have blended , then add pork , you might Brown them first then cook 10-15 min and at the end add the Mushrooms .Tis is my high blood pressure alternative .
