Ingredients

  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1-1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 2 teaspoons grated orange peel
  • 1-1/2 teaspoons nutmeg
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup shortening
  • 3/4 cup orange juice
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 eggs
  • 1-1/2 cups dried cranberries
  • 1 cup chopped nuts

Directions

  1. Combine flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, orange peel, nutmeg and cinnamon; set aside.
  2. Beat shortening, orange juice, vanilla and eggs.
  3. Blend flour combination into egg mixture.
  4. Fold in cranberries and nuts.
  5. Pour batter into greased muffin tins.
  6. Bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes.
