If you enjoy the taste of crab cake appetizers, then you will love these main dish crab cake burgers. Top each burger with some tartar sauce and serve.


  • 1 pound crabmeat
  • 1 egg, lightly beaten
  • 1/2 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup light mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons minced chives
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon celery seed
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground pepper
  • 4 dashes hot sauce
  • 1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil
  • 2 teaspoons unsalted butter
  • 6 toasted hamburger buns
  • Tartar sauce and lettuce to garnish


  1. In a large bowl, mix together the crab, egg, breadcrumbs, mayonnaise, chives, mustard, lemon juice, celery seed, onion powder, pepper and hot sauce until thoroughly combined. Make 6 patties with the crab mixture and set aside.
  2. Place the oil and the butter in a large skillet and heat over medium heat for 1 minute.
  3. Cook the patties for 4 minutes on each side and place on the prepared buns.
