Old fashioned, homemade couche couche. Serve with cream and sugar.
Ingredients
- 2 1/4 cups cornmeal
- 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 cup cream
- 1/2 cup water
- 2 tablespoons bacon drippings
Directions
- Mix together all the dry ingredients, stir in the cream and water.
- Heat the fat in the iron skillet and pour the batter in. Lower heat, stir occasionally.
