The corn dog, a fair favorite, can be traced b ack to the 1920s.
Ingredients
- 1 cup Bisquick
- 2 Tbsp. yellow cornmeal
- 1/2 tsp. dry mustard
- 1/4 tsp. paprika
- 1/8 tsp. pepper
- 1 egg
- 1/3 cup milk
- 1 lb. hot dogs
- Wooden skewers
- Vegetable oil for frying
Directions
- Heat the oil in the frying pan or deep fryer to 375 degrees.
- Place one hot dog on each skewer. Mix all other ingredients well. Roll hot dogs in batter to coat.
- Immerse coated hot dog in hot oil and fry about 3 minutes. Simple!
