The corn dog, a fair favorite, can be traced b ack to the 1920s.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Bisquick
  • 2 Tbsp. yellow cornmeal
  • 1/2 tsp. dry mustard
  • 1/4 tsp. paprika
  • 1/8 tsp. pepper
  • 1 egg
  • 1/3 cup milk
  • 1 lb. hot dogs
  • Wooden skewers
  • Vegetable oil for frying

Directions

  1. Heat the oil in the frying pan or deep fryer to 375 degrees.
  2. Place one hot dog on each skewer. Mix all other ingredients well. Roll hot dogs in batter to coat.
  3. Immerse coated hot dog in hot oil and fry about 3 minutes. Simple!
