The addition of cognac in this French 75 cocktail gives the classy concoction a smooth richness and luxuriant finish.
Ingredients
- 1 barspoon fresh lemon juice
- 1 barspoon simple syrup
- 1 ounce cognac
- 3 ounces champagne, chilled
- lemon zest twist to garnish
Directions
- Place all of the ingredients, except for the champagne and garnish, into a cocktail shaker filled with ice.
- Vigorously shake the mixture for 35 seconds and then strain into a cocktail glass.
- Top the drink with the champagne and then garnish with the lemon zest twist; serve immediately.
