Coffee and port make a delicious blend of smooth flavor and rich taste. Garnish with a dusting of freshly grated nutmeg and serve.


  • 1 ounce cognac
  • 1 ounce ruby port
  • 1 small egg
  • 3/4 ounce simple syrup
  • freshly grated nutmeg to garnish


  1. Place all of the ingredients, except for the garnish, into a cocktail shaker and dry shake for 30 seconds to combine.
  2. Fill the shaker with ice and then vigorously shake for an additional 30 seconds.
  3. Strain the mixture into a cocktail glass and then garnish with the freshly grated nutmeg; serve immediately.
