Classic Hot Bacon Dressing

Pour Classic Hot Bacon Dressing over salad greens and fresh spinach.


  • 4 strips bacon
  • 2 tablespoons onion, finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1/4 cup vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper


  1. Cook bacon over medium heat until crisp. Saute onion in bacon drippings in skillet for 1 to 2 minutes or until tender stirring frequently. Remove from heat and stir in cornstarch.
  2. Add 3/4 cup water and remaining ingredients gradually. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring constantly, and boil for 1 minute. Pour over salad greens and vegetables. Sprinkle with bacon. Toss lightly and serve immediately.
