Classic Custard can be used for a custard filled pie.
Ingredients
- 6 eggs
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 4 cups scalded milk
- 2 teaspoons vanilla
- 1/2 teaspoon lemon juice
- cinnamon for sprinkling
Directions
- Mix the first 4 ingredients together; add vanilla and lemon juice stirring constantly. Pour into a 2 quart casserole. Set into a larger pan filled with 1 inch of water. Sprinkle with cinnamon and bake at 325 degrees F for 55 minutes or until knife inserted comes out clean.
