Classic Custard can be used for a custard filled pie.

Ingredients

  • 6 eggs
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 4 cups scalded milk
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 1/2 teaspoon lemon juice
  • cinnamon for sprinkling

Directions

  1. Mix the first 4 ingredients together; add vanilla and lemon juice stirring constantly. Pour into a 2 quart casserole. Set into a larger pan filled with 1 inch of water. Sprinkle with cinnamon and bake at 325 degrees F for 55 minutes or until knife inserted comes out clean.
