A cake frosted with Classic Buttercream Frosting freezes well.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 1/2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • dash of salt
  • 1/2 cup shortening
  • 1/2 cup margarine
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

Directions

  1. Mix cornstarch, salt and milk in a saucepan and cook until pastey. Let coo. Mix rest of ingredients with electric mixer until creamy. Add cooled mixture and beat until fluffy.
